Fans of Elizabeth Taylor will soon get a closer look into the private life of the famous Hollywood legend. On December 13, 2011, Christie's Auction house will be holding the first of several auctions of her jewelry, clothing and other prized possessions.

The auctions will be preceded by a world wide tour which will culminate in four consecutive days of exciting auctions. Starting this month, a selection of items from the Elizabeth Taylor collection of jewelry, fashions, memorabilia, artwork and other items will be shown in Moscow, London, Los Angeles, Dubai, Geneva, Paris and Hong Kong.

The exhibition and auctions will offer "a view of the private world of a true icon - a rare woman who was at once an international film and fashion star, loving mother, successful businesswoman, and generous humanitarian," said Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie's auction house.

Some of the jewelry which will be included in the December auctions include a 33.19 carat diamond ring which was a gift from Richard Burton, and a BVLGARI emerald and diamond necklace, also a gift from Burton, both valued at $3,500,000.
